Couples Therapy

“We will have many relationships over the course of our lives. Some of us will have them with the same person.” - Ester Perel

Sex, frustrations in communication, arguing, differences in values, infidelity, secrets, or just an overall sense of distance, “is this it?” type of questions - are all reasons couples turn to therapy.

Together, we will unpack your success and challenges as a couple. We will explore your inner workings as individuals who are sharing a life and relational space together, and we will revisit your current dance, to make way for your new dance - either together, or separately.

I will hold the space so you are free to bring your full self; shadows, fears, dreams, wishes, desires, so that you can connect to each other in a new unfiltered way, while feeling safe and secure, empowered and daring. We will work in the here-and-now, using what happens in the room as a microcosm for your relational dance.

My style is bold and direct. I will block your exits so that, together, we can improve the way you relate to yourself and each other - whether you stay together or not.

Initial session

We begin with an initial 90 minute session where we get to “feel” the chemistry between us (research shows that one of the greatest factors that impacts the success of therapy is the relationship with the therapist). By the end of the session, I’ll reflect your dynamic as I see it (strengths and challenges), and map how I would work with you in therapy if we were to continue. I’ll also give you some initial practices and tools that you could apply immediately.

The decision to continue the process is yours and you take ownership over your growth.

If you choose to continue, we start working together, based on these principles:

  • I believe that one of the goals of therapy is for therapy to end. Therefore I aim for practical, no-nonsense, efficient therapy.

  • I believe that knowledge is power so I teach you effective tools, techniques and concepts that I personally tested on my own marriage. Therefore in most sessions I’ll refer you to videos from our YouTube channel so you can deepen your learning and practice at home, because therapy is what happens between sessions. I’ll encourage you to watch the videos together, so you can solidify a new language and understanding in your relationship.

  • I believe each partner needs to take responsibility over their personal and couple process. Therefore, the you determine the frequency of sessions (in consultation with me). At the end of every session, I’ll ask you when you want to meet next so you’ll be accountable for the process.

  • I believe in a holistic, geder-sensitive approach. Therefore, if during our sessions, I believe we could benefit from a wider lens, my wife Galit, who is a certified life coach and gender PhD student, will join our sessions (for an additional fee). Together we offer a sweeping, integrated, gender-aware experience, as well as model a refreshing, alternative relational space that helps couples experience these ideas viscerally. These become a two on two crucible where everyone is seen and heard. It’s been our experience that these comprehensive sessions accelerate the process.

Sessions are conducted online or in my clinic in our home in Kfar Saba Sundays through Thursdays from 9:30am till 6:15pm (IL time). Couples sessions are usually 90 minutes.

To book your initial 90 minute session, fill out your details below or contact me directly.
